This started out to be a personal web-log for my use alone. After 20-some years of marriage I have acquired many favorite recipes.
Some are scribbled on the back of a grocery receipt (the only thing I could find in my purse on which to write when asking for the recipe at a family reunion) or on the back of a utility bill envelope (undoubtedly written before online billing).
Some "recipes" are simply a list of ingredients with obscure arrows pointing this way and that (obviously the directions in shorthand!)
Some of these recipes are recorded in my Great-Grandma Gladys Oney Downing Barnhart's hand on a (now) vintage recipe card. These I hope to preserve for my daughter and therefore do not want to run the risk of more vanilla drops or sauce spatters than are already there.
As I said, I intended this to be a personal record of recipes that have found their way into my red kitchen. However, I came across the quote that can be found at the bottom of the home page and agreed wholeheartedly! Therefore, you have the right to read this blog and share my recipes with whomever you choose.
I only ask that you leave me a comment with a link to your web page or blog if you have one because I really do like to make new friends!
Be blessed!
With love from my red kitchen, Oney
P.S. I have tried to give credit to the friends who shared their recipes with me in the first place; however, some fading of the memory has caused me to draw a blank on the exact source of some recipes. My apologies.
